About the Artist, Drew Kalocai I will try to keep this from being as pretentious as I can. I enjoy taking photographs of women. Its that simple. I respect the courage it takes to disrobe or partially disrobe in front of a camera. I look forward to photographing women who normally would not think of getting in front of the camera in this manner. I hope I can show the beautiful side of every woman who trusts me to photograph them. I encourage those I shoot to have fun and relax. I try to find interesting ways to shoot the female form and create images that are daring, uplifting and spiritual.
I try to not go into a shoot with too many preplanned ideas as I find that the environment and light often gives me inspiration that could only come when behind the camera. I try to let the subject's nature show and enjoy & encourage their ideas. I love talking to a subject prior to a shoot and see what their interests are and what they want to get out of the shoot.
I shoot digitally and love the instant feedback it provides. I keep my Photoshop work simple. I feel Photoshop can enhance a great image but can only make a poor image adequate. I enjoy using traditional 35mm lens and love the ever popular Lensbaby which gives the creative blurring you see in some of my images.
I am was exhibiting three 10 x 15 prints at
